Life Is So Good

At the age of 98, George Dawson, a black man who grew up in the deep south during Jim Crow, went to school and learned to read and write. In 2002, the Southlake Carroll School District named their new school, the George Dawson Middle School, in his honor. Two decades later the teachers were directed not to use or teach from his biography LIFE IS SO GOOD. Joshua Ault, the journalism teacher, refused to stop teaching about the life and times of George Dawson. His documentary about George Dawson won a Lone Star Emmy Award.  LIFE IS SO GOOD is a benefit event combining film documentry and author Q&A. Join Joshua Ault and LIFE IS SO GOOD co-author Richard Glaubman for this special event discussing the continuing struggle for equality, the power of education and the rise of censorship in America. Proceeds benefit George Dawson's estate and family.PT1H30MNR2026-03-12
